The Leader in Training (LIT) and Floor Leader position's primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement : "To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests." The LIT and Floor Leader performs a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks assigned by store management (e.g. cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities). Works directly with the Store Manager and Leadership Team to develop sales, recruit new Teammates and provide leadership.

Responsibilities
- Sales Generation and Guest Service : Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude; answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise; recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs; anticipate and fulfill Guest needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience; demonstrate product knowledge and sales education; maintain knowledge of current sales, promotions, policies, and security practices; achieve personal sales goals; provide legendary service in the front, sales floor, fitting rooms and at the register; manage exchange and return procedures; use the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG) to accomplish goals; build Guest relationships and develop a client-based business; lead by example with high showmanship and customer service; communicate Guest levels to the team; coach and develop Teammates to improve results.
- Teammate Recruiting, Training and Development : Identify recruiting opportunities; develop and lead new Teammates to meet Buckle's standards on daily operations; maintain a positive floor culture; model professional dress; participate in training and performance reviews; motivate Teammates to complete daily tasks; demonstrate denim showmanship and fit card results; balance department actions and mid-week check-ins; demonstrate leadership during segments and ensure Guest engagement.
- Visual Merchandise Management : Own and influence product through zone ownership, including product knowledge and lifecycle; assign zones and projects with clear learning goals; ensure adherence to Visual Standards and Weekly Visual Checklist; execute new tools and videos related to zone ownership; recognize merchandising opportunities and communicate recommendations to the Store Manager; provide store tours and maintain appropriate freight display.
- Operations : Maintain a flexible schedule; complete Opening and Closing Checklists; monitor security risks and Loss Prevention; follow POS procedures; handle communications from Corporate; manage returns and exchanges per Buckle guidelines; maintain a positive attitude in challenging situations; navigate all policy requirements and tools on the home page; provide guidance to non-sales positions; complete shifts and cover when needed; give feedback on merchandise handling; communicate concerns to leadership; keep the store clean, organized, and shoppable; follow Buckle Code of Ethics and policies.
- Supervisory and Leadership : Provide and receive feedback; support leadership; foster store and personal growth; maintain professional relationships; perform duties with high customer service and team spirit; handle special projects and other assigned duties.
- Supervisory Responsibilities : This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
Education and / or ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related retail experience and / or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical DemandsRegular standing, walking, handling, reaching; occasional sitting; ability to lift and maneuver 50 lbs; visual requirements include near, far, color, and depth perception.
Work EnvironmentRetail store setting with moderate noise.
