Farnsworth Group is seeking a Civil 3D Designer in one of the below posting locations. In this role, candidates will work with the Energy & Utilities team in the drafting, design, permitting and construction administration of industrial projects. Focus will primarily be in oil & gas, wind, solar and utility projects.

Posting Locations for this role : Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Colorado Springs, CO; Frisco, TX; Greenwood Village, CO (Denver Tech Center); Indianapolis, IN; Lisle, IL; or St. Louis, MO

Responsibilities

  • Preparing topographic and civil alignment / profile and utility drawings, as well as occasional work on other engineering discipline's drawings.
  • Preparing civil based drawings, as well as occasional facility and / or process piping drawings.
  • Preparing easement exhibits with guidance from a licensed surveyor.

Qualifications

  • Associates or Technical Degree in Computer Aided Drafting / Design, or similar field
  • 10+ years of experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to design and prepare construction drawings
  • Flexibility to perform design, drafting and recognize the importance of meeting stringent deadlines in an often fast-paced environment
  • Ability to effectively plan & manage time commitments on multiple concurrent projects
  • Candidate should be team-oriented, highly motivated with a strong work ethic, and have the ability to work well with minimal direction
  • Strong understanding of CAD standards, features and annotation styles, line styles, and drawing setup
  • Communicate effectively with a variety of project team members
  • Desired Experience

  • Oil & Gas or renewable energy industry experience
  • MicroStation experience
  • Experience processing survey data
  • Experience processing LiDAR scan data and point clouds
  • Bluebeam
  • Industrial mechanical piping experience

    Salary

    Salary Range : $80k - $115k (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity)
