Job Title : Senior Surveyor
Type : Direct Hire
Experience : 4 years
Our client is seeking a Hydrographic Sr. Surveyor to lead a team of surveyors in conducting detailed
surveys of underwater environments. The primary goal is to ensure the accurate collection, analysis, and
interpretation of data related to the physical features of bodies of water to support safe navigation,
marine construction, and environmental protection.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-survey planning meetings with project managers, resident engineers, and
contractor representatives
Provide technical advice on hydrographic matters to clients and stakeholdersPlan survey operations to take account of vessel(s) operational and environmental capabilitiesand limitations
A full appreciation of the survey deliverables is required so that on completion of a project, alldata will be backed up and submitted to the Project Manager / Onshore team in the agreed
formats
Utilize specialized equipment such as multi-beam echo sounders and GPS systems to collectaccurate data
Supervise survey operations always ensuring safe working practices and with due regard tocontract requirements, scope of work, procedures, and regulations
Effectively communicate with Vessel Management Team, Bridge Team, and clientrepresentatives offshore
Compile operational / field reporting in a concise manner and in accordance with projectprocedures, client specifications and company procedures
Maintain efficient stock controlEffectively address vessel operation and management issuesStatutory regulations affecting radio frequencies and expertise to ensure compliance with suchregulations
Data acquisition, processing, presentation, and management systemsKeep the team working and living together in harmonyImplement and develop company emergency proceduresImplement hazard identification and risk assessment control measuresAdditional duties as assignedRequirements
Valid DL, Passport, and TWIC card, or ability to obtainBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferredAbility to work after hours / weekend (on-call) scheduleNeeds to be able to work on an offshore construction vesselRelevant industry experience or military / academic experience in survey related discipline,including relevant management experience
Satisfactory completion of competence criteria for Senior Surveyor, Senior Survey Engineer,Senior Geophysicist or Senior Data Processor
Proficiency in using hydrographic surveying equipment and software (e.g., Quinsy, Qimera,sonar, MBES, GPS, GIS)
Nominally 48 months experience, including 300 operational days offshore as Senior Surveyor,Senior Survey Engineer, Senior Geophysicist or Senior Data Processor
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is essentialMust have or be able to obtain all industry required certificates to work offshore (OGUKPhysical, BOSIET (or BST) offshore medical
