About the Role :
Durante Equipment is looking for a motivated and talented Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. Someone who is a strong communicator and who will be able to help improve operational efficiency and aid in our continued growth.
Responsibilities :
Repairs diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems on all types of construction equipment
Troubleshoots and diagnoses all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition in the shop or job site.
Performs scheduled preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained to top standards.
Performs routine equipment repair, clean-up and upkeep as well as safety review and pre-delivery inspection.
Does some stick, MIG and gas welding
Completes basic computer tasks including completing work orders, looking up parts, and communicating via email.
Communicates with coworkers and customers to ensure top quality equipment is always maintained and customer expectation is needed.
You will be required to keep track of the maintenance work performed on the vehicles and equipment and comply with all safety procedures. Must have good communication and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Our mechanic will travel to various job sites as needed. Knowledge, time management and organization will be important.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and / or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; cold and extreme heat.
Required Experience and Qualifications :
Experience with heavy equipment and machinery, such as construction equipment, agriculture equipment, trucks, or industrial equipment.
Minimum 5 years mechanical, fleet, rental, service, or related equipment experience
Strong equipment and mechanical skills and diagnostic experience
Decent proficiency in computer skills, applications, internet, etc.
Ability to manage projects with multiple tasks, resources, and occasional customer interaction
Ability to diagnose and repair complex equipment problems
Must have a valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
Ability to climb on and inspect large construction equipment regularly
Ability to work flexible work schedules, including traveling to customer locations
Have excellent oral and written communication skills and a great team player
Self-motivated with skills and attitude to excel
Must have own tools
