Dental Assistant
Incumbent performs chairside dental assistant duties in all phases of restorative, prosthodontic, surgical, endodontic, and periodontal treatment as provided in the dental clinic or operating room. The employee operates dental X-ray equipment to take intra- and extra-oral radiographs. The employee also assists in training students from affiliated schools, observing and advising them as they perform their duties. Responsibilities include chairside assisting, dental imaging, infection control and equipment reprocessing, clinic support, patient safety, and dental laboratory functions. Work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7 : 30am-4 : 00pm. Telework is not available and this is not a virtual position.
Requirements include being a U.S. Citizen, proficiency in written and spoken English, and subject to a background / security investigation. Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process. Acceptable forms of identification will be required to complete pre-employment requirements. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). Qualifications include basic requirements such as United States Citizenship, experience and / or education, and certification. Grade determinations are based on experience or education and demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities. All qualifying experience must be clearly described in your application package.
