Maintenance Assistant - Senior Living

The Maintenance Assistant performs the general operating maintenance, service, and repair of the interior and exterior of the assigned community in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards / regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities :

Assist the Maintenance Director in completing daily maintenance tasks and work orders in a timely manner.

Perform routine inspections of the community, including resident apartments, common areas, and outdoor spaces, to ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper operation of equipment.

Support preventive maintenance schedules for HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and community equipment.

Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests (e.g., leaks, power outages, safety hazards).

Assist with painting, minor carpentry, furniture repairs, and general upkeep of the building.

Help maintain community grounds, including landscaping, trash removal, and walkways to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.

Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and assist in ordering or organizing materials as needed.

Assist in vendor coordination by escorting, monitoring, or supporting contractors performing specialized repairs or services.

Follow all safety protocols and infection control procedures to protect residents, staff, and visitors.

Support resident move-ins and move-outs, including apartment preparation, cleaning, and minor repairs.

Maintain accurate records of completed work orders, inspections, and repairs.

Provide excellent customer service to residents, families, and staff while respecting the needs and privacy of residents.

Participate in on-call rotation or after-hours support as required.
