Chapman University is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position. This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidates qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.
Job Description Summary :
The Fire Safety Officer is directly supervised by the Chapman University Fire Marshal and works collaboratively with the Fire Safety Specialist. The Fire Safety Officer conducts inspections of campus property, fire protection and extinguishing systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes, ordinances, and standards. Conduct and assist with fire safety presentations and education for staff, students, and faculty. Inspect and maintain life safety equipment on campus property. Perform fire safety officer standby for special events, student film production, and other fire watch needs. Conduct hot work inspections, special event inspections, and student film inspections. Respond and assist with campus fire or medical emergencies as a certified Basic Life Support provider. Strong analytical and organizational skills to organize, prioritize, and manage the successful completion of projects within time and budget constraints. Thorough written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, including political acumen and skill to communicate effectively in a diverse environment. This position is scheduled to work a 4 / 10 alternative work schedule.
