As a Maintenance Team Leader, you will hold an important role in the Kings Mountain Operations facility. You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and support long-term and short-mid term activities to meet maintenance objectives. You are responsible for safety, quality, delivery, continuous improvement, environment, people development and cost of the maintenance process.

Main Activities and Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of maintenance technicians to complete work orders during planned production downtime.
  • Support reactive maintenance activities for MIG and resistance spot welding equipment, robotics, and hydraulics as needed.
  • Complete standard shift reports daily and coach the maintenance team on completion of data capture for equipment breakdown events.
  • Lead your team against set safety, quality, delivery, and financial targets.
  • Continue the implementation of Volvo Production System (VPS) – standardized ways of working, develop the organization, and achieve contribution from all employees.
  • Full accountability and ownership of your team's development, employee relations, project follow up, mid-term roadmap (0-1 year) and policy deployment from plant to operator level.

  • Participate in the development of departmental objectives and targets. Ensure the maintenance area objective(s) is clearly formulated and motivated to achieve the Kings Mountain Operations business objectives and strategy.
  • Ensure the availability of skilled resources and create a motivating environment to consistently improve upon the performance of the department and readily adapt to evolving demands.

  • Inspire and influence through a communicative leadership style with your team and cross-functional groups, with two-way communication and high employee engagement. Ensure all employees are aware of their responsibilities, how they contribute to the total result and that they are recognized for performance.

  • Education and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of combined maintenance leadership and technical experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred Experience

  • Associate's Degree.
  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of operating with Computerized Maintenance Management System.
