CASCADIA MOTION – APPLICATION SALES ENGINEER

Cascadia Motion is manufacturer of electric vehicle propulsion system solutions. Specifically this means inverters, motors, gearboxes and supporting equipment. The company owns the project from concept design through in-house manufacture and after-sales support. Products are typically prototype to mid-volume but with a volume graduation pathway into other facilities within the parent company's network of plants. Our customer base is extensive and international ranging from OEM to startup and spanning across all vehicle types.

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Sales & Application Engineer, you will lead customers to the best solution that we can offer and ultimately deliver booked sales orders. You will contribute strongly to our web presence and our ability to efficiently serve customers with information.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication and is passionate about building and strengthening customer relationships. He / She has stellar technical knowledge of products in the EV / Hybrid area (motor and motor controllers) as well as be highly curious about the automotive industry and Cascadia Motion's business. This is a highly collaborative and customer-service focused role that demands continuous cross-team partnership on a global-scale.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Collaborate with customers to build and / or determine requirements and specifications then, identity ideal solutions to meet the requirements.
  • Attention to detail must be top-notch as you will be responsible for documentation of customer solutions as well as updating of customer manuals.
  • Deep customer focus and management of key customer relationships, primarily technical but also commercially to ensure future technology is aligned with customer needs.
  • Partner with sales and customers groups to understand the technical aspects of the products in the marketplace and suggest improvements to Cascadia products.
  • Capable of guiding problem-solving activities for Cascadia business team, sales, and external customers on the proper application of Cascadia products.
  • Responsible for recognizing the need for and initiating appropriate actions to assure positive customer relationship.
  • Responsible for strong customer engagement relationship that includes : product demonstrations onsite or at customer location, problem-solving and quality control with customers including diagnosing, debugging and commissioning projects. This also includes attending customer meetings.
  • Assist Sales in the quoting of systems for customers and perform order entry for sales of products in catalog.
  • Assist engineering and sales with creating a new catalog of standard product offerings.
  • Develop and provide training to Cascadia business team, sales, and external customers on the proper application of Cascadia products.
  • Observe product performance of tested products and report results to management.
  • Detail requirements for custom products or designs to other engineers and assist in motor-testing.
  • Champions continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs, improve designs and increase productivity.
  • Ensure Cascadia Motion continues to earn our customers' business by focusing on Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost

QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering degree. A Master's degree in a Technical field is preferred.
  • You must possess strong analytical skills including problem solving and have strong customer service skills.
  • Proven record of competence in an engineering discipline, preferably related to electric vehicles.
  • Participation in Formula SAE / Student Electric strongly preferred
