Pay Range : $52-$57 / hour base rate, negotiable

MAKC is looking for two NPs to staff one office location each : Downtown Richmond and Prince George. This position will require occasional travel to the other office site, as needed. Mileage and travel time is compensated.

Operating out of most tri-cities hospitals and three office locations, MKC providers and staff are prepared to offer a variety of flexible solutions for our patients, including self-administration.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage patients with chronic kidney disease, focusing on care that promotes health and slows further decline in renal function.
- Treat renal disease and other medical conditions as appropriate.
- Order and interpret renal-focused lab tests and diagnostic studies.
- Assist in the Coordination of Care with the patients family, dialysis facility, primary care, specialists, hospital and other health care settings.
- Provide leadership to the clinical staff by serving as a role model and clinical resource.
- Collaborate with the nephrologists to provide care and updates on patients condition.
- Communicate with the patients other providers as needed.
- Provide ongoing education to patients and their families, including preparing for initiation of dialysis if they choose.
Experience, Licenses and Certification
Minimum Experience : 1 year of experience as an RN and 1 year of NP experience preferred; experience with nephrology and critical care strongly preferred.Required Licenses : Virginia Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner; Virginia or Compact RN LicensePreferred Certification : Advanced Practice Nurse (Adult, Acute Care, or Family) by AANP or ANCCPrescriptive Authority in VirginiaKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
