Water Resources Engineer

Job Description

Dewberry is seeking a motivated Water Resources Engineer for the Water Resources group within our Baltimore, MD office. This position offers great potential for professional growth in a fantastic working environment and the opportunity to apply innovative design methods to water resource projects. Typical projects involve stormwater management design, stream restoration / natural channel design, dam safety engineering, storm drainage design, floodplain management and analysis, and other watershed planning projects. Our Gainesville Water Resources group serves a wide range of municipal, state, federal, and private sector clients. Our engineers are on the cutting edge of innovation, providing unique and challenging solutions while collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop a balanced design.

Responsibilities

• Able to work under AutoCAD and ArcGIS platforms
• Conduct watershed and storm water management planning and design
• Perform stream restoration / natural channel design
• Perform roadway drainage design and culvert hydraulic analysis
• Perform floodplain studies and prepare FEMA LOMC applications
• Act as a technical mentor to entry-level engineers
• Perform dam safety engineering / analysis including dam inspections, dam break inundation zone studies / mapping, dam hazard assessments, development of emergency action plans, spillway design flood development and spillway design, new dam design and dam rehabilitation design
• Perform other duties as required
