Job Summary

Career Services Grizzly Career Ambassadors are undergraduate students who :

  • Model the role that applied work can play in a student's education,
  • Support the effective and efficient operation of Career Services,
  • Provide experiences that a student can use on their resume in pursuit of specific career.

A Grizzly Career Ambassadorship is renewable each semester. An application process is required. A student must submit a class schedule, resume, cover letter, letter of recommendation and must progress through an interview process.

Grizzly Career Ambassadors report to one of the Career Services professional staff members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide resume and cover letter review, mock interviews, general career advice as a peer.
  • Greet and assist all students, staff, faculty, employers and office visitors.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, address questions and concerns, transfer calls to appropriate staff member or department as needed, and document detailed messages.
  • Conduct student appointment reminder phone calls and document confirmation.
  • Perform additional administrative support including data entry and preparing documents for copying, scanning, and shredding.
  • Assist with execution of Career Services events / programs and special projects.
  • Promote Career Services events and services via information tables and for designated campus events.
  • Serve as the personal liaison between Career Services and student organizations, classes and other student entities to promote the initiatives of Career Services.
  • Support the overall work of Career Services in whatever way necessary.
  • Participate in required training and monthly check-in meetings.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits at Georgia Gwinnett College
  • Must be in good academic standing and maintain good academic standing for the duration of employment.
  • Must be in good standing with the campus Office of Student Integrity and maintain good standing for the duration of employment.
  • Work at minimum 12 hours per week; specific hours set each semester.
  • Engage in professional behavior both in dress and actions.
  • Complete assignments on time.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Interest in enhancing skills in one or more of the following areas : peer advising, event planning, marketing and social media.
