Requirements
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform echocardiograms, including transthoracic and transesophageal procedures, to evaluate cardiac function.
- Prepare patients for exams by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout the process.
- Utilize advanced imaging equipment to capture clear and accurate cardiac images.
- Analyze and interpret echocardiographic data, documenting findings for physician review.
- Work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to develop patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient records and adhere to safety protocols.
Minimum Requirements :
Completion of a cardiorespiratory or ultrasound technology program, or equivalent training.Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification is required.Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.Excellent patient care and communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.U.S. Citizenship required.Certifications (Required) :
BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required (AHA-approved)ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required (AHA-approved)RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) – RequiredAccepted certifying bodies : ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International)Education : Preferred but not required : Graduate of an accredited Echocardiography or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
