Wastewater Building Maintenance
This position is responsible for the custodial care and maintenance of Wastewater buildings.
Duties include :
Knowledge of city safety policies and procedures.
Knowledge of the use of various cleaning chemicals.
Skill in operating such cleaning equipment as a vacuum cleaner.
Skill in following instructions.
Skill in prioritizing work.
The work consists of related custodial duties. Inclement weather contributes to the complexity of the position.
The purpose of this position is to participate in the custodial maintenance of Wastewater buildings. Successful performance contributes to the provision of clean and attractive facilities for city employees, residents, and visitors.
Contacts are typically with coworkers, other city employees, and the general public.
Contacts are typically to provide services and resolve problems.
The work is typically performed while outdoors and / or in water facilities, intermittently sitting, standing, stooping, walking, bending or crouching. The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects, climbs ladders, uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, distinguishes between shades of color, and utilizes the sense of smell.
The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee may be exposed to machinery with moving parts, contagious or infectious diseases, or irritating chemicals. Work requires the use of personal safety equipment such as masks, goggles, gloves, steel toed boots, hearing protection, hard hat, etc.
