Vocational / Technical Degree in Radiologic Technology
2 years CT experience preferred
Description :
Perform specialized procedures according to department protocols.
Identify patients according to hospital policy.
Ensure the correct procedure is performed on the patient by referring to the patient's medical record or physician orders.
Set up the procedure room and the isotope for the exam.
Explain procedures to patients and / or family members.
Perform exams / procedures according to established protocols.
Ensure exams are properly labeled.
Conduct quality assurance on the exam before it is released for interpretation.
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly quality assurance procedures on the equipment.
Follow proper procedures to ensure radiation safety and protection for both staff and patients.
Limit radiation exposure to the area of interest while shielding the gonadal region, particularly for children and adults of childbearing age.
Minimize repeated exposures by ensuring correct setup of equipment.
Wear radiation monitoring badges at all times.
Utilize protective equipment, such as lead aprons and gloves, when in radiation fields.
Stand behind protective barriers when not required to be in the radiation field.
Document and submit required information and data in a timely manner.
Clearly and accurately document designated processes and policies.
Maintain equipment in working order and troubleshoot any problems.
Collect data systematically and continuously.
Identify issues and develop diagnoses based on assessment data.
Prioritize data collection based on patient condition and needs.
Perform interventional procedures such as biopsies, abscess drainage, and centeses.
Properly identify sides for entry during procedures.
Conduct time-outs with all personnel involved before starting procedures.
Perform exams in accordance with the directions of the radiologist.
Scan documents into the Radiology PACS.
Adhere to attendance and punctuality guidelines.
Complete all job responsibilities in alignment with organizational core values.
Maintain current knowledge in responsibilities through self-education and participation in ongoing educational programs.
Attend staff meetings and complete all mandatory training and evaluations on time.
Demonstrate competency in providing care based on age, weight, and needs.
Wear protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
