Scope of Position
This position provides primary support to the senior management in the Finance Department. and senior leaders in The Health System for creating, developing and producing the annual capital budget that is approved by Senior Administration. This position will take the lead in coordinating the capital budget process and cash flow management for capital purchases. The individual will be responsible for planning, organizing, and facilitating the capital budget process with Health System Management, the Business Unit Administrators, Financial Directors, Financial Services staff, and Operational Managers of the Business Units. The position will develop and maintain a short and long-term financial plan and capital forecast for each of the Business Units along with a consolidated forecast. The individual will provide financial analysis and / or coordinate the development of financial analysis for projects and programs as assigned. The position may perform other duties assigned to support the operations of the Medical Center from a financial perspective.
Position Summary
The job will report directly to the Associate Director of Finance. The individual is responsible for performing and accomplishing the responsibilities described in the Scope of Position. The person is responsible for developing and maintaining processes and systems work-flow, coordinating other required fixed asset functions with other staff members and supporting the Health System and its Business Units in regard to budget preparation, budget analysis, business plan development, financial forecast and financial analysis. Effective communication is of high importance with this position which includes routine communication with Health System senior leaders, Business Unit leaders, financial leaders within the University, Facilities leadership both with the University and Medical Center, and various groups supporting the acquisition of Capital Assets.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting and 6 years of general accounting, fixed asset / capital planning and budgeting. CPA preferred.
