Scenic Designer (Remote - 3-4 month Contract)

Position Overview

A Scenic Designer will be responsible for the development of theatrical sets, stages, and scenic deliverables that fulfill strategic business objectives as outlined by existing and potential clients. This includes assisting with the conceptual development, articulating integrated physical and digital scenic design solutions, and ensuring successful execution of creative deliverables. This position will collaborate and partner with other Scenic Designers, Creative Directors and report to the Design Director.

Key Job Responsibilities

Creative Development

• Conceptualize high-quality, medium-complexity scenic, theatrical, and environmental solutions designed to solve problems for clients and add value to their live production experiences and events.
• Partner with senior scenic designers and creative leads to assist in the conceptual development of ideas and translate into creative output.
• Deliver integrated theatrical concepts as directed.
• Participate in internal creative presentations to internal stakeholders, effectively representing concepts and solutions to influence sell-through to clients.
• Uphold the highest creative standards, always striving to ensure the highest quality.
• Working understanding of theatrical techniques, content, lighting, and fabrication methods.
• Ability to visualize concepts using various tools and methods such as 3D modeling / rendering, developing control drawings, photo compositing, mood boards, story boards, and written treatments.
• Mid-level ability with tools such as Vectorworks, Enscape, Envision, Vray, and Adobe Creative Cloud is required.

Work Environment

Office

Work is performed primarily in a virtual office environment. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.
