YOUR DAY AS A STAFF ACCOUNTANT

As a Staff Accountant at SkyOne Federal Credit Union, your primary responsibilities will immerse you in the heart of our financial operations. You will maintain essential accounting processes while ensuring timely reconciliation and resolution of discrepancies within assigned general ledger accounts.

Your role will also include handling wire transfer processes and managing expenses through coordination with Accounts Payable. This involves ensuring accurate processing, timely payments, and proper documentation in alignment with internal controls and compliance standards.

Your analytical skills will be crucial in understanding the financial impacts of organizational and departmental projects, identifying opportunities for optimization as they arise. Additionally, you will prepare various management reports that provide vital insights into our financial standing, empowering leadership to make informed decisions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting field.
• Financial services industry preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Business Administration preferred.
• Proactive, self-motivated, ability to think creatively and the individual should demonstrate curiosity and passion.
• Ability to work autonomously, as a team member, and in a cross-functional capacity with other departments to accomplish responsibilities.
• Strong time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, demonstrating excellent critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, and a strong attention to detail.
• Ability to effectively handle confidential information and materials.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suites.
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting principles.
• Working knowledge of the General Ledger system.
• Proficient and accurate use of 10 key calculator and other office machines.
