Description : Job Summary :
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing intermediate to advanced-level maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on production equipment, utilities, and plant infrastructure. This role supports line uptime, ensures equipment is functioning safely and efficiently, and participates in preventative and corrective maintenance programs. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical skills, previous manufacturing experience, and a proactive, safety-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities :
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Perform routine maintenance on production lines, utilities, and facility systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and minor electrical issues
- Replace worn components, align equipment, and calibrate as needed
- Use CMMS to complete work orders and log repair history
Equipment Support & Troubleshooting
Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtimeAssist with machine startups, changeovers, and performance adjustmentsIdentify root causes of recurring issues and recommend corrective actionsSupport continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floorSafety, Compliance & Documentation
Follow LOTO (Lockout / Tagout) and all OSHA safety standardsMaintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areasEnsure all tools and parts are used / stored correctlyAccurately complete all maintenance logs and equipment recordsCross-Functional Support
Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Sanitation teams to ensure smooth operationsAssist in training or mentoring Maintenance Technician I team membersSupport equipment installation, upgrades, and project work as neededKey Performance Indicators (KPIs) :
Equipment Uptime : Reduced unplanned line stoppagesResponse Time : Fast resolution of maintenance requestsPM Completion Rate : On-time execution of preventative tasksRepeat Repairs : Reduction in recurring failuresSafety Compliance : No violations or incidentsWork Order Accuracy : Timely and detailed completion of maintenance logsRequirements :
Education & Experience :
High school diploma or GED required3+ years of industrial maintenance experience required, preferably in food or beverage manufacturingTrade school, technical certification, or associate’s degree in a related field preferredSkills & Competencies :
Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsAbility to read schematics, blueprints, and technical manualsExperience with CMMS systems and basic computer skillsAbility to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heightsExcellent troubleshooting, teamwork, and communication skills
