Responsibilities Work in a 12-bed surgical intensive care unit serving adult patients Unit operates 24 / 7 and specializes in care after vascular and thoracic surgery, stroke, and post-cardiovascular interventions Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week (6 : 45 PM - 7 : 15 AM) Patient ratio is typically 2 : 1 Advanced therapies and monitoring include arterial lines, CVP, continuous cardiac output, CRRT, mechanical ventilation, pacemaker management, EVD drains, and ISTAT lab analysis Uses Epic EMR with experience required Candidates must be able to work at least one holiday per 13-week assignment; two holidays required during winter assignments No Christmas RTO is allowed Responsibilities include ongoing assessment and management of critically ill patients requiring complex treatments Team structure supports specialized post-surgical and stroke populations within a certified stroke center environment Orientation includes non-billable modules and Epic training during the initial period Return contracts for past employees are subject to facility-specific separation and return policies Scrub dress code will be specified by the facility RTO must be submitted up front for consideration Requirements Active VA or compact RN license required Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Prior ICU experience in a Level 1 trauma center required Level 2 ICU experience considered only if from a large facility Epic EMR experience required Two professional references are required for consideration Candidates who have previously worked at the facility must have been separated for at least one year prior to returning as a traveler Candidates residing within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible, except as specified for 50–99.9 miles (one assignment only, no extensions), and 0–49.9 miles (one assignment only at lower pay, no extensions) Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-627084.
