We have been retained to identify a Chief Administrative Officer to serve as the lead financial and operating officer for a leading professional services firm based in Jackson, Mississippi, with offices throughout the Southeast. This position reports directly to the Partners Executive Committee, manages a team of 14, and oversees all core administrative areas, including finance, accounting, human resources, information technology, and client services. The core mission of this role is to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization to maintain the firm’s culture and facilitate service delivery by the partners.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide strategic and financial leadership to support firmwide operations and long-term goals.
- Oversee all administrative departments, including accounting (A / R, A / P, GL), finance, HR, IT, and client services.
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and key performance metrics for the firm.
- Direct monthly and annual financial reporting, audits, and tax preparation.
- Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, leases, insurance programs, and vendor contracts.
- Lead initiatives to improve processes, technology, and operational efficiency.
- Supervise administrative staff and foster professional growth across departments.
- Oversee benefit programs, compensation planning, and performance management.
- Partner with department heads to strengthen billing, collections, and client service operations.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate office leases, renewals, and facility planning as needed.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.MBA, CPA, or other advanced credential preferred.15+ years of progressive leadership experience within a professional services environment (legal, accounting, engineering, architectural, etc.).Proven success in financial management, budgeting, and strategic planning.Experience leading multi-department administrative teams with strong people management skills.Knowledge of HR operations, benefits administration, and employee relations.Skilled in vendor negotiation, contract management, and cost analysis.Demonstrated ability to implement technology and process improvements.Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.Exceptional communication and leadership skills with a collaborative approach.Compensation :
$175,000 - $200,000 plus discretionary performance bonuses.Comprehensive benefits package.
