The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Fleet Management will serve as the executive leader responsible for all aspects of the company’s fleet operations across multiple service lines. This individual will develop and execute a comprehensive fleet strategy, ensuring reliability, safety, regulatory compliance, and cost efficiency. They will oversee the acquisition, maintenance, utilization, and lifecycle management of a diverse fleet—including collection trucks, street sweepers, service vehicles, portable restroom trucks, and construction support equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute long-term fleet strategy aligned with company growth, sustainability, and financial goals.
- Partner with executive leadership to support business expansion, capital investments, and operational excellence.
- Fleet Operations & Maintenance
- Oversee all aspects of fleet acquisition, leasing, maintenance, repair, and disposal.
- Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency .
- Implement best practices for preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Financial & Asset Management
- Manage fleet budgets, capital expenditures, and cost controls.
- Optimize asset lifecycle management, including acquisition, utilization, and replacement schedules.
- Lead negotiations with manufacturers, vendors, and leasing partners to secure favorable terms.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (DOT, EPA, OSHA, etc.).
- Champion a strong safety-first culture , implementing programs to reduce incidents and ensure driver / operator well-being.
- Technology & Innovation
- Leverage telematics, fleet management software, and emerging technologies to improve visibility, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Lead the company’s evaluation and adoption of alternative fuels, EV, and sustainable fleet initiatives .
- Team Leadership & Development
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of fleet directors, managers, and technicians.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Operations, Safety, Finance, and Environmental Compliance teams to align fleet initiatives with business needs.
- Serve as the executive voice of fleet strategy in executive team discussions and board-level reporting.
Qualifications
15+ years of progressive leadership experience in fleet management, transportation, logistics, or waste / environmental services industries .Proven executive-level experience overseeing large, diverse fleets across multiple service lines.Strong background in P&L management, capital planning, and vendor negotiations .Deep knowledge of DOT, OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance regulations.Experience leading fleet modernization initiatives, including alternative fuels and sustainability programs .Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred)Please send resumes to Amanda.Moore@gogpac.com
