Overview
Phoenix Systems is growing and we are looking for an experienced Audio / Video installation technician to join our amazing team. We are looking for candidates that are self-motivated, personable and of good character. You should be passionate about consumer electronics, custom installation, and all about providing world class service to our high-end clients.
Starting salary range $24.00 to $29.00 / hour depending on experience.
Anticipated start date of this position is October 27, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Performs service, installation, and activation of security systems, surround sound systems, system components, speakers, TV hangs, remote controls, and systems requiring Control4 automation products and lighting
- Communicate with the customer to review the work orders, answer customer questions professionally and properly
- Instruct and train the customer / end user on the system functions and operation
- Must also be able to work and perform duties of Trim Technician
- Have in depth knowledge of security systems operation, functions, and wiring requirements
- Completely understand security systems Phoenix Systems installs and services (NX, SimonXTi, 2Gig, DSC, Etc.)
- Handle after hours emergency service calls (as assigned on a rotation basis)
- Understand monitoring protocol with Phoenix / Monitoring Station / Primary Responders for alarms
- Understand and communicate pricing for monitoring rate tiers to customers
- Demonstrate and train customers on advanced monitoring solutions (i.e. Alarm.com)
- Troubleshoot and repair security system problems, malfunctions, and false alarms
- Troubleshoot and repair existing wiring installed by the company for Phone / Data / Intercom / Security / WAP’s / Basic Audio / Cameras / etc.
- Install, setup and train homeowners on AV component packages
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of experience with security and Audio Video installations requiredControl4 Associate Installer & Automation Programmer certifications through SnapAVKnowledge of cable types and technologies and can distinguish which types to use in installation scenariosAbility to accurately assess system design and functionality when adding additional componentsKnowledge of setup of Networking requirements for Routers, Switches, DVR’s, Network Components, WAP’s, etc.Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer serviceAbility to work in a clean and unobtrusive mannerAbility to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within standard accepted practicesMust have or be willing to obtain basic tools to perform job responsibilitiesMust be able to clear a background check and drug screeningClear MVR requiredTechnical or Vocational related schooling isPhysical Requirements
