Shelter Monitor (24 hours week)

The Salvation Army Midland Division Shelter located in Jefferson City, Missouri, is looking for an individual who would like to apply their experiences, to fill our Shelter Monitor position. We ask that this position maintains shelter security. Perform related duties to maintain control and assist homeless clients in the shelter. Each monitor is responsible for his / her shift.

This is part-time, 24 hours, starting pay at $15.00 per hour.

Essential Functions

• Assure safety of residents in building and on grounds by actively observing the people and happenings in and around the shelter and grounds.
• Consistently enforce shelter policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Intervene when appropriate to resolve problems between residents.
• Complete pre-screening actions to determine intake eligibility of new individuals seeking admission to the emergency shelter and complete intake processing to successfully admit individual.
• Add entries of incidents occurring during the shift to the daily shelter log record. Read and sign the previous entries at the beginning of the shift.
• Obtain and maintain statistics of attendance at all meetings and screenings held in the shelter.
• Update and maintain current daily client list on computer.
• Enter client data into the HMIS database when authorized and trained to do so.
