Summary
The Director - Human Resources is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Human Resources function to drive organizational success and employee engagement. This role directs staffing and talent acquisition strategies, employee orientation, education and training, leadership and management development, employee and labor relations, compliance, compensation and benefits, organizational development, performance management, and workforce planning. The Director serves as the primary liaison to the Executive Team, providing strategic HR guidance and ensuring alignment between HR initiatives and overall business objectives, while fostering a high-performing, engaged workforce. This position maintains direct responsibility for the success of each team under the Human Resources Department.
Responsibilities
- Represent the Human Resources department to the Executive Team and other divisions; explain and interpret HR programs, policies, and activities; negotiate and resolve sensitive, significant, and complex issues with Executive Leadership
- Confer with organization officials to plan business objectives, develop organizational policies, and coordinate specific HR functions
- Lead workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational design to support long-term business growth
- Oversee compensation and benefits strategy to maintain internal equity and external competitiveness
- Lead HR staff in executing organization-wide and location-specific initiatives that align with business priorities
- Provide clear direction on HR department goals, objectives, mission, and KPIs to ensure measurable results
- Evaluate human relations and work-related issues, meet with supervisors, managers, and executives to determine effective remediation techniques (e.g., training, coaching, interventions)
- Lead union status initiatives on behalf of the organization
- Oversee performance management systems in alignment with GHQ (Global Headquarters) and AHQ (Americas Headquarters) requirements, ensuring consistent application across the organization
- Champion company culture, values, and employee engagement initiatives across all locations
- Review and approve or deny HR requests and initiatives in alignment with business strategy
- Communicates with establishment personnel and attends meetings to facilitate effective interpersonal communication among participants and to ascertain human relations and work-related problems that adversely affect employee morale and establishment productivity
- Directs staff personnel who assist in identifying, evaluating, and resolving human relations and work performance problems within establishment to facilitate communication and improve employee human relations skills and work performance
- Drive talent acquisition strategies to attract and retain top talent, including executive-level recruitment
- Oversight of corporate attendance compliance and reporting of same
- Oversight to headcount status and reporting of same
- Attends to support programs for company affiliates as needed
Shall maintain general awareness of affiliate HR competency and shall report and ensure in best practice sharing
Compensation Range
$183,000 - $210,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)
