Operations Manager
This position is available at our Amazon Delivery Station in Madison, WI. As part of Amazon's Worldwide Operations network, you'll be joining a team that delivers millions of packages-and smiles-to customers every day. You are looking for motivated, customer-focused leaders to join us as Operations Managers.
In this role, you will lead and develop a team of salaried and hourly employees, driving engagement and maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, attendance, and performance. You'll provide your team with the tools and support they need to succeed, while using data and analytical problem-solving to improve productivity and efficiency. Above all, you will play a key role in ensuring customer orders are delivered on time and to the right location.
Our Operations workflow has three main components :
First Mile - products are housed and prepared for customer orders.
Middle Mile - orders are transported from fulfillment centers to your area.
Last Mile - packages are delivered directly to customers' doors.
While each building has slight variations, our commitment to the customer remains the same : delivering on Amazon's promise of speed, quality, and reliability.
Key job responsibilities :
Support, mentor, and motivate both salaried and hourly workforce.
Lead large-scale projects with site and regional impact.
Build and execute productivity plans through forecast reviews, determining requirements, and partnering with peers to balance workload.
Manage safety, quality, productivity, and customer delivery promises.
Collaborate with support teams (Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, HR) to meet business objectives.
Lift up to 49 pounds and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach.
Stand and / or walk for up to 12 hours during shifts.
Work in an environment where noise levels may be loud.
Work in variable temperatures and weather conditions.
Continuously climb and descend stairs (as applicable to the site).
Basic Qualifications :
3+ years of employee and performance management experience.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge / FTE) experience.
Work a flexible schedule / shift / work area, including weekends, nights, and / or holidays.
Preferred Qualifications :
1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $81,900 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $150,100 / year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits.
