Medix is seeking a dedicated and experienced Radiology Technologist for an exciting travel contract opportunity. Length of Assignment : 22 weeks
State License Needed : NYS License
Pay Compensation Details : Comprehensive rate packages and potential stipends will be thoroughly reviewed and discussed directly with your Medix recruiter.
Shift : 35.0 hours / week, Monday-Friday, offering flexible coverage across multiple sites.
Clinical Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Radiology Technologist include, but aren't limited to :
Performing X-rays and general radiological procedures in accordance with practice standards and institutional protocols.
Reviewing imaging requests and consulting with the radiologist or referring physician on questionable orders.
Ensuring optimal patient positioning and selecting appropriate technical factors for diagnostic quality imaging.
Observing patients for status changes during procedures and making appropriate interventions or contacting primary care providers.
Assisting the radiologist with fluoroscopic studies and assisting physicians with administering opaque media.
Operating and maintaining radiological equipment, including performing quality assurance (QA) and scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), and maintaining required logbooks.
Greeting and interacting with all patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous, professional, and ethical manner.
Providing detailed explanations of diagnostic procedures to patients and answering questions as appropriate.
Ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the treatment room, maintaining adequate inventory of supplies, and utilizing safety standards.
Administrative Duties
Performing clerical tasks related to the acquisition, processing, and archiving of patient records.
Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality in adherence to HIPAA requirements at all times.
Keeping current on all organizational policies (e.g., infection control) and completing required trainings.
Maintaining a safe and secure work environment by following all OSHA and public safety policies.
Contributing ideas for improving practice workflows.

Job Requirements
NYS License and ARRT certification are mandatory.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
A minimum of 6 months' relevant experience . A minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred.
High school graduate or equivalency.
Basic proficiency in computer skills, including Electronic Health Systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and email systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to de-escalate stressful situations and work collaboratively with a culturally diverse population.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with an aptitude for detail and flexibility

Health Benefits / Dental / Vision : Medix offers 6 different health plans. Eligibility requires verifying an average of 30 hours per week during the first 4 weeks of the assignment. Coverage, if eligible and enrolled, begins no earlier than 60 days into the assignment, depending on plan selection.
401k : Eligible on the first 401k open enrollment date following 6 consecutive months on assignment. Open Enrollment dates are 1 / 1, 4 / 1, 7 / 1, and 10 / 1.
