American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring L&D-specific experience and a South Dakota or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital settingUnit has 8 beds and cares for L&D, postpartum, antepartum, newborns, infants under 28 days, Level 2A nursery, and GYN- surgical / mastectomy post-op patientsPatient ratios : 1 : 2 for laboring patients and 1 : 3-4 for coupletsCentralized fetal monitoring is in useUses Epic charting system48 hours per week on 12-hour night shiftsEvery other weekend and rotating holiday coverage requiredOn-call participation required based on census and locationFloating may be required to med / surg units within scope of practice, including CNA dutiesPrimary responsibilities focus on care of laboring, postpartum, antepartum patients, newborns, and infantsOpportunity to care for sick babies in a Level 2A nursery and post-op gyn-surgical casesOrientation is tailored based on experience, typically about 1 week for experienced travelersSupport staff includes 24 / 7 lab and RT coverage, as well as a hospitalist in-houseHospital-provided scrubs are requiredFree parking is available on siteMust commit to a fair holiday rotation (3 worked, 1 on-call) and follow facility RTO policiesTravelers are welcomed and facility is considered traveler friendly\n \n Requirements\n
Active SD or compact RN license requiredMinimum of 1 year recent L&D experience requiredFirst-time travelers accepted if L&D experience is metCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, NRPCompetency in EFM interpretation and intervention, as well as adult and neonatal assessment skillsMust have completed a board-approved nursing education programCandidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facilityPermanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as travelers\n Benefits\n
