About The Position

Job Title : Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Location : Newburgh, IN 47630

Assignment Duration : 13 Weeks

Shift : PM Shift | 5x8s (Mon–Fri) | 3 : 00 PM – 11 : 30 PM

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours / week

Job Summary :

Hiring for an experienced  Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-week contract assignment. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience in decontamination, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments, with strong knowledge of all specialty instrumentation.

You will be expected to work across all core SPD areas and float between Deaconess Gateway and Midtown locations.

Local candidates within a 40-mile radius will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities :

Perform duties in decontamination, assembly, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and equipment.

Ensure proper handling, cleaning, and sterilization of complex surgical tools.

Support OR staff by preparing and providing sterile instrument trays.

Maintain accurate inventory of sterile supplies and instruments.

Float between Midtown and Gateway facilities as needed.

Required Qualifications :

Experience : Minimum 2–3+ years in Sterile Processing

Certifications (Required at Submission) :

CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician)

OR CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist)

OR CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution)

Minimum Travel Assignments : 1 previous assignment

Education : High School Diploma or equivalent required
