Description :
The Director of Programs will serve as a key member of the leadership team at ACHD. They will oversee all aspects of Program Services, including housing, case management, workforce development, health and wellness, food access, basic needs supportive services, education, small business support. This position will steward relationships with key stakeholders, manage program staffing and budgets, support staff to ensure they are fully trained and resourced to be successful, and ensure high-quality, culturally responsive case management for the African Diaspora community.
Requirements : Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee program staff and service delivery
- Steward relationships with key governmental stakeholders at the local, county, and state level, as well as with partner nonprofit organizations
- Manage overall department budgets, including staffing, reporting, and program expenses
- Oversee internal training and professional development for staff to maintain a highly capable team following industry-wide best practices for trauma-informed, Housing First, culturally relevant care
- Ensure high-quality, culturally responsive programs and services for every community member who walks through ACHD’s doors
- Ensure high standards of data quality and accuracy across programs, including database management, impact assessment through program intake and data collection, and programmatic community feedback gathering
- Work with Fundraising & Communications team members to share respectful stories of program impact
Qualifications
Required
Five or more years designing and / or directing large-scale social service, housing, or education programs in a public, nonprofit, and / or private settingExpertise with a variety of housing-first service models, such as Rapid Rehousing, Diversion, Streets to Home, etc.Knowledge of King County / Seattle housing and funding landscapeDemonstrated experience managing a large and diverse staffAbility to engage with and serve the African Diaspora community, including non-English speakers, in a culturally responsive mannerStrong organizational and communication skillsStrong writing skills; experience managing both narrative and data reporting for fundersAbility to handle multiple tasks and demands, establish priorities, manage deadlines, and work effectively in an energetic environmentExceptional time management skills and punctualityCompassionate and effective leadership and management skillsCompetency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and OutlookBachelor's degree in social work, nonprofit management, or related field OR more than ten years equivalent experiencePreferred
Master’s degree in social work, nonprofit management, business, public affairs, or related fieldExperience with Apricot or another case management databaseFluency in a language other than English, especially an African languageBackground in case management, social work, and / or direct social servicesExperience working directly with landlords and property management companies
