Duties
- Demonstrates competency in the provision of care according to established standards.
- Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for geriatric patients.
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and complete complex tasks.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and / or infection prevention standards.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
- Ability to work closely and professionally with others at all levels of the organization.
- Prepares plans for discharge.
- Coordinates with interdisciplinary team on resident needs, treatment modifications, and progress; applying appropriate standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for residents.
- Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions. Complies with appropriate and approved safety and Infection Control standards.
Requirements
Graduate from an approved school of occupational therapy required.State license to practice occupational therapy required.Two years’ experience in occupational therapy preferred.Interest in occupational therapy treatment programs for the geriatric and subacute populations utilizing a team approach.Ability to direct others necessary.Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing required.Current, valid CPR / BLS credentialSense of responsibility and ability to work well with residents, families, and other staff members required.Qualities of maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with others required.Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence required.Familiarity with early intervention practices and patient care techniques.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.Job Type : Full-time
