Job Description :

We are seeking dynamic and innovative practitioners to join our instructional team on a part-time basis. The program is offered as a full-time day program; therefore, instructors must be able to commit to this schedule.

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program is seeking a qualified Clinical Preceptor to provide instruction in the Psychosocial OTA course at our Plainfield, NJ site. This position requires a commitment of one day per week (Wednesdays).

Essential Duties :

• Supervising a group of four OTA students during their clinical experience.
• Guiding students in the preparation of fieldwork group activities.
• Facilitating group sessions in collaboration with students.
• Assisting students in the development of group protocols.
• Conducting student evaluations and providing constructive feedback.
• Provide instruction with the focus on teaching and learning to help ensure students in each class successfully meet all course outcomes and classroom objectives.
• Participate in the curriculum monitoring and development process by providing feedback on the curriculum to PDs and / or the System-level curriculum team.
• Manages the learning environment through keeping accurate records, submitting grades and other reports on time, and enforcing school / campus academic and attendance policies.

Requirements :

Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant / Bachelor's degree or higher as an Occupational Therapist.

Current New Jersey OT / OTA license.

2 or more years' experience in the field of Mental Health, Occupational Therapy / Occupational Therapy Assistant.

1 to 2 years' experience in instruction or formalized education process, preferably in a post-secondary or college institution.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build successful relationships with student populations.

Computer-based skills. (i.e., software, analytical, and report writing skills)

Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet frequently occurring deadlines. Ability to develop a professional rapport with diverse school / campus constituents. Ability to create and complete projects without continued direct supervision.

Ability to learn from students' participation, demonstrates fair and consistent behavior in all matters.
