UX Design Lead, User Experience Design
OneMain is on a mission to build and scale industry-leading digital experiences that empower millions of customers across web and mobile platforms. We're looking for a seasoned UX Design Lead who can bring depth, clarity, and strategy to create value, lower barriers to entry, and accelerate product adoption throughout the customer journey.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for improving user-facing features and functionalities that are shared across multiple product lines or teams-including things like design systems, marketing and communications experiences, or platform services used by various product development groups. The goal is to create consistent, high-quality experiences while also driving efficiency and reducing redundancy.
This role requires a unique blend of craft excellence, research proficiency, stakeholder collaboration, and inspirational leadership to guide a team of designers across product experiences. The ideal candidate is a passionate, empathetic, and visionary design leader who thrives at the intersection of design, technology, and business strategy.
About the Role
In this role, you'll partner closely with cross-functional teams, combining technical depth with a strong focus on user experience. You'll play a hands-on role in shaping the product roadmap-collaborating with Product to align on shared experiences and services across the broader portfolio.
You'll work alongside Engineering to design intuitive experiences that serve a range of user personas and experience levels. Leveraging product and user data, you'll drive continuous improvement through thoughtful planning and iteration.
Direct engagement with field teams and customers will be key to deepening product value and impact. As part of our digital organization, you'll also help mentor and learn from a team of experts, fostering a culture of collaboration, quality, and innovation.
We're looking for a UX design leader who :
Leads creative problem-solving across cross-functional teams, elevating thinking across the organization while aligning with broader business goals.
Proactively gathers, synthesizes, and applies insights from design research, competitive analysis, and data to inform strategic, full-featured product experiences.
Owns and drives complex programs of work, collaborating fluidly with product, engineering, and other cross-functional partners.
Attracts, hires, and mentors top-tier design talent, helping to grow and strengthen the team.
Approaches design with a holistic mindset to ensure we deliver seamless, end-to-end customer experiences.
Effectively manages multiple projects, adapting quickly to shifting priorities and business needs.
Advocates for and applies Design Thinking across the organization, embedding it into how we solve problems.
Communicates clearly and compassionately, fostering collaboration and psychological safety across teams.
Comfort with ambiguity along with an ability to motive teams and partners.

DDITIONAL INFORMATION
HYBRID position - onsite in office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)
Work Location : Baltimore MD (preferred). Will also consider candidates that live within 50 miles of other OneMain corporate offices in Wilmington DE, Charlotte, NC, Evansville, IN, or Irving TX
Potential for extension and conversion to FTE.
