Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
A nonprofit organization is seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Social Worker to join our care team at our substance abuse treatment site in New York, NY. The LSW will play a key role in supporting clients who live onsite and are actively working toward recovery in their inpatient facility. This position is ideal for someone who is mission-driven, empathetic, and committed to providing high-quality behavioral health services to vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and clinical interviews to evaluate client needs.
- Provide individual and group therapy for clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans that promote recovery and stability.
- Make recommendations for care, including referrals to appropriate internal and external services such as housing, vocational training, or medical support.
- Monitor client progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team to ensure integrated treatment.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies and state regulations.
- Provide crisis intervention when necessary and help connect clients to emergency services.
- Support clients in developing coping strategies, relapse prevention skills, and recovery-oriented goals.
Patient Population :
Adults living onsite in a substance abuse recovery program.Clients may present with co-occurring mental health disorders, trauma histories, and complex social service needs.Qualifications :
Active New York State LSCW license required.Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in substance abuse, behavioral health, or related settings.Strong clinical assessment, therapy, and case management skills.Knowledge of community resources and referral networks in NYC.Commitment to serving diverse, underserved populations.Benefits :
