Shipping & Receiving Specialist

Overview

Join a growing specialty food distribution facility in Huntley, IL as a Shipping & Receiving Specialist.

This full-time, temp-to-hire position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of hands-on warehouse work and logistics coordination. You’ll be responsible for shipping and receiving materials, routing deliveries, managing documentation, and helping lead daily operations to keep the warehouse running smoothly.

Schedule : Monday–Friday, 7 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM (occasional Saturdays and overtime during peak season).

Responsibilities

Receive and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality

Prepare and ship outbound orders via LTL and parcel carriers

Enter freight, pallet, and packaging details into the ERP system

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and PaceJet / FedEx shipping stations

Coordinate weekly local deliveries and maintain the company delivery van

Supervise temporary or seasonal warehouse staff as needed

Ensure safety and compliance with OSHA, FDA, and HACCP standards

Communicate with internal departments to ensure timely fulfillment

Requirements

2+ years of experience in shipping and receiving

1+ year in a lead or supervisory role

Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)

Comfortable using ERP or WMS software

Able to lift 50+ lbs, bend, and stand throughout shift

Willing to work Saturdays or overtime during peak seasons

Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual (English / Spanish)

Experience with PaceJet, FedEx Ship Manager, or similar platforms

Background in food, consumer goods, or packaging environments
