Are you looking for an accounting / finance position to accelerate your skills? We are adding to our finance team.

We are searching for a Senior Payroll Specialist who is responsible for various accounting and operational support functions. Primary support will be provided to the Payroll Supervisor.

Responsibilities :

  • Process weekly and salary payroll, including subsistence and HSA disbursements.
  • Act as primary backup for the Payroll Specialist when needed.
  • Address employee payroll inquiries and support traveling employees with timecard entry and approvals.
  • Schedule tax, child support, and monthly union fringe payments.
  • Manage state and federal tax filings and assist with W2 preparation and year-end reconciliations.
  • Respond to employment verifications and union requests.
  • Provide payroll report analysis and insights to management as requested.
  • Lead and assist with various audits, including financial statement, union, state, Worker's Compensation, and 401(k) audits.
  • Support Certified Payroll reporting and other assigned duties.

Qualifications :

  • Associates degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • 3-5 years of payroll or related financial experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills to liaise with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex payroll issues and identify process improvements.
  • Adaptable to changes in payroll processes, technology, and regulations, with a willingness to learn and grow.
