Oak Grove Technologies, LLC, a dynamic and fast-growing federal contractor, is seeking highly skilled and motivated Auto Mechanic to support operations at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Artesia, New Mexico.

The Auto Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of government vehicles and equipment in support of training operations. This position requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining compliance with federal safety, maintenance, and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles including cars, trucks, SUVs, buses, and specialty fleet vehicles.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, oil and filter changes, brake service, tire inspections, and fluid replacements.
  • Repair or replace components such as engines, transmissions, electrical systems, suspensions, and air conditioning units.
  • Conduct safety and emissions inspections; maintain DOT compliance for all fleet and buses.
  • Maintain tools, parts inventory, and supplies (filters, hoses, fluids, belts, spark plugs, etc.).
  • Keep maintenance areas neat, clean, and compliant with FLETC environmental procedures, including Oil / Water Separator maintenance.
  • Ensure proper spill containment and cleanup procedures; maintain spill kits and train staff as required.
  • Complete accurate service documentation and work orders.
  • Clean and prepare vehicles post-maintenance and support the readiness of training vehicles.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational certification preferred.
  • 2–3 years of professional automotive repair experience (fleet / government is a plus).
  • ASE certifications in brakes, suspension, exhaust, and air conditioning required or obtainable.
  • Opportunity for pay increases based on ASE certification level, with preferred certifications including ASE G1, A5, A4, A1, A2, A3, and Master Technician.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, reliability, and ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license.
