We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Medicine Physician Assistant for a full-time locum tenens opportunity in Maryland. This 48-day assignment begins Jan 5, 2026, and involves night shifts (6PM-6AM plus sign-out) providing post-operative care in a busy CVS-ICU. The role focuses on advanced post-surgical cardiac cases and requires proficiency with invasive procedures. Job Details Location : Maryland Start Date : Jan 5, 2026 LOA : 48 days Provider Type Needed : Critical Care Medicine Physician Assistant Schedule : Full time; 6PM-6AM plus 1-hour sign-out; 3 nights per week, typically rotating; no more than 5 shifts consecutively; no call Responsibilities and Duties Provide night shift coverage in a CVS-ICU, collaborating with other advanced practice providers Manage 4-6 post-operative transplant, ECMO, LVAD, bypass, and surgical patients per night Deliver advanced post-operative cardiac care Perform invasive procedures including central line and arterial line placement, chest tube and pacer wire removal Participate in patient sign-out and shift transition processes Additional Information Must hold a current Maryland license Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required Required board certifications : Critical Care Medicine Experience with Epic EMR preferred Acute care experience and training necessary Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
