Location : Monticello, Illinois

Schedule : 40 hours weekly

Job Summary : Perform medical laboratory tests for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Conduct chemical analysis of body fluids, including blood, urine, or spinal fluid, to determine presence of normal or abnormal components. Process specimens in hematology, chemistry and the blood bank, urinalysis, bacteriology. Enter data from analysis of medical tests or clinical results into computer for storage. Bring panic value test results to the attention of the licensed healthcare worker responsible for the patient as required by policy. Operate, calibrate, or maintain equipment, including cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing various equipment and work areas in the laboratory. Maintains inventory of reagents and supplies in the laboratory, reporting needed supplies to the lab manager or assistant manager. Help with training of new staff or students. Participate in data management updating and revising procedure manuals. Annual inventory and competency and other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in Medical Technology, Biomedical Sciences, or related field; must hold ASCP certification.
