Job Description & Requirements Specialty : ED - Emergency Department Discipline : RN Start Date : 10 / 27 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, nights Employment Type : Travel RN – Emergency Room Location : 5 Garrett Ave, La Plata, MD 20646 Shift : Nights – 3x12-Hour (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM) | 36 or 48 hours / week | Every Other Weekend Job Description : The Emergency Room RN provides comprehensive care to patients across all age groups in a fast-paced, high-volume, 47-bed emergency department with an average daily census of 130 patients . This role requires strong critical thinking skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage diverse patient populations in an acute care setting. Key Responsibilities Deliver safe, effective care to patients in the emergency setting (infant to geriatric). Perform triage, patient assessments, medication administration, and emergency interventions. Maintain a 1 : 4 nurse-to-patient ratio in collaboration with the healthcare team. Document patient care accurately in the EMR system. Respond to emergent situations including codes and rapid responses. Float to other ED units / specialty areas as needed. Work weekends and holidays as required by schedule. Requirements Experience : 2 years ED RN experience preferred; will consider Licensure / Certifications : Active RN License (Maryland or Compact). AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI – required. Other : First-time travelers accepted. On-Call : Not required Local rule : Locals under 50 miles are not allowed.
