Job Title : Cloud HSM to KMS Migration Specialist (Short-Term Contract)

Location : Remote (Morning collaboration with GCP team in Bangalore required, ~7 : 00-7 : 30 AM calls)

Duration : Short-term (Estimated 1-2 weeks, part-time / side project)

This is a short-term, part-time project focused on secure migration of cryptographic keys from Hardware Security Modules (HSM) to cloud-based Key Management Systems (KMS) . The engagement is suitable for someone with niche expertise who can work remotely and may handle it alongside other commitments.

Overview :

We are seeking a niche consultant with deep expertise in secure key management and cloud migrations. This short-term engagement involves assisting with a specialized migration from Hardware Security Module (HSM) environments into Cloud KMS-backed solutions. The project is not business-critical but has compliance-driven deadlines approaching.

Key Responsibilities :

• Lead or advise on the secure transfer of cryptographic keys from AWS HSM to GCP KMS (or between AWS HSM and alternative HSM solutions).
• Ensure compliance with NIST and industry security standards throughout the migration.
• Evaluate and design a secure key transfer process, minimizing risks of exposing keys or certificates in cleartext outside of HSM environments.
• Provide recommendations and best practices for securely wrapping / unwrapping keys across AWS and GCP.
• Collaborate with an internal GCP team based in Bangalore (early morning meetings required).
• Support critical application upgrades tied to this migration effort.
