Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or Visual Impairments, active Teacher of the Visually Impaired certification and 1+ years Teacher of the Visually Impaired experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a skilled professional specializing in education for students with visual impairments within a K-12 school setting. This contract position is based in Charlotte, NC, and spans the full academic school year.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement individualized instructional plans tailored to students with visual impairments.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and related service providers to support student learning and accessibility.
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to enhance educational experiences.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Provide consultation and training to staff to promote awareness and acmodations for visually impaired students.
Qualifications :
Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired.Experience working with K-12 students who have visual impairments.Knowledge of braille, orientation and mobility techniques, and relevant assistive technologies.Strong munication and collaboration skills.Ability to design and implement specialized curriculum modifications.Location :
