Role Description
We’re seeking a full-time Machinist to join our team on-site in Las Vegas, NV. This position requires a skilled machinist with expertise in precision aerospace manufacturing, capable of producing mission-critical components to exacting tolerances. You’ll set up, operate, and maintain CNC and manual equipment to support the production of aerospace and defense parts. Working from engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models, you will ensure quality and reliability in every part produced.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate CNC and manual machines (mills, lathes, grinders) to fabricate aerospace and defense components.
Proficiency in CNC programming and operation (Fanuc, Haas, or similar).
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to determine machining requirements.
Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, and other inspection tools to ensure compliance with tolerances.
Collaborate with engineers to ensure manufacturability of designs.
Interface with vendors and tool suppliers as needed to support production.
Maintain proper documentation of machining operations, setups, and quality checks.
Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust tooling, offsets, or programs to optimize results.
Perform preventive maintenance on machining equipment and uphold shop safety standards.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; formal machinist training or apprenticeship preferred.
5+ years of hands-on machining experience in aerospace, defense, or another high-precision industry.
Familiarity with CAD / CAM software (Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or equivalent).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and aerospace tolerances.
Skilled with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
Knowledge of machining materials common in aerospace (aluminum, titanium, stainless steels).
Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety / quality standards.
U.S. Citizenship required due to government contract requirements.
Desirable Qualifications
7+ years of experience in an aerospace or defense machining environment.
Experience with 5-axis machining and advanced manufacturing methods.
Welding experience (TIG, MIG)
Toolroom experience
EDM experience
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
Experience working with engineers on prototype builds and production transitions.
Eligible to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
