Your Impact
As a Permitting III professional, you will serve as the senior subject matter expert overseeing the most complex and sensitive permitting and joint use initiatives. You'll act as a liaison between engineering, construction, utilities, and governing agencies—ensuring projects move forward efficiently while maintaining compliance with state, municipal, and utility standards. Your strategic leadership in resolving escalations, negotiating with agencies, and mentoring junior staff will directly influence project delivery timelines, stakeholder satisfaction, and organizational success.
Core Responsibilities
Lead and manage high-complexity permitting and joint use submissions, including railroad crossings, bridge projects, and environmentally sensitive areas.
Develop proactive strategies to expedite permits and resolve technical or jurisdictional challenges.
Negotiate with state DOTs, municipalities, and pole owners to resolve escalated or disputed applications.
Ensure cross-functional alignment between permitting, joint use, engineering, and construction teams to prevent redesigns or schedule delays.
Conduct technical reviews to confirm that joint use submissions meet NESC and owner-specific construction requirements.
Monitor project progress, identify permitting risks and bottlenecks, and communicate updates and mitigation plans to leadership.
Provide mentorship and training to junior permitting staff to strengthen team performance and consistency.
Represent the company at agency meetings, joint use coordination sessions, and cross-functional project reviews.
Core Qualifications
5+ years of experience in permitting, joint use, or utility coordination within telecom, power, or infrastructure industries.
Proven track record managing high-risk or complex permitting scenarios such as railroad crossings or state DOT projects.
Strong understanding of NESC standards, pole attachment processes, and owner-specific joint use requirements.
Experience interpreting and applying municipal, state, and federal right-of-way and utility regulations.
Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Proficiency in permitting software systems, GIS tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated ability to mentor, lead cross-functional coordination, and deliver under tight deadlines.

Base Pay Range
$20—$28 USD
