Security Officer - Shelter Mobile Patrol

As a Security Officer - Shelter Mobile Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Security Professional with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a shelter environment. Your presence will help to deter security-related incidents while fostering a welcoming atmosphere through exceptional customer service and communication. You will interact with residents and staff, providing assistance as needed and upholding the caring, reliable, and innovative values that define Allied Universal. Pay Rate : $18.02 / Hour

Job Schedule : DayTime

Tue 03 : 30 PM - 11 : 30 PM

Thur 11 : 30 PM - 07 : 30 AM

Sat 11 : 30 PM - 07 : 30 AM

Sun 11 : 30 PM - 07 : 30 AM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergencies when needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner to support residents and staff at the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and promote a secure environment.
  • Interact professionally with residents, visitors, and staff to support a welcoming and orderly atmosphere.
  • Report all observed irregularities, incidents, and / or hazards according to site protocols and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Monitor access points and check for unauthorized entry or suspicious activity, taking appropriate action as directed by site policies.
  • Assist with emergency evacuations and other emergency response activities as required by the shelter's procedures.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
