Certified Athletic Trainer TANTASQUA REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL

Overview
Position : Certified Athletic Trainer at Tantasqua Regional High School. Reports to the Athletic Director. This is a full-time role for the 2025-2026 school year.
Responsibilities
- The Athletic Trainer develops injury prevention programs, provides immediate care for injuries, conducts assessments and diagnoses injuries, creates rehabilitation programs, and educates student-athletes on injury prevention and health maintenance.
- Provides coverage of practices and daily events (according to a schedule created in conjunction with the Athletic Director).
- Covers all home contests for all levels on weekdays, weeknights, and weekends according to the schedule set in conjunction with the Athletic Director.
- Advises athletes regarding proper maintenance of good health and conditioning.
- Serves as liaison between physicians, allied health providers, coaches, athletes and parents while establishing a respectful and professional relationship with them as required.
- Ensures that players participate only when physically able and that any physician's instructions are understood and followed.
- Is responsible for the athletic training room and on-site event coverage; maintains daily hours of operation in the athletic training room according to the schedule.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment in the athletic training room, locker rooms and weight room.
- Maintains confidential athlete records including accident reports and rehabilitation procedures; provides reports as required to the Athletic Director.
- Renders emergency care to athletes as necessary until transfer of medical responsibility is made to a physician or recognized EMS.
- Works in conjunction with school nurses to ensure proper care of athletes.
- Provides water coolers, bottles, cups and ice for athletic contests.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree or higher.Massachusetts License as Athletic Trainer, hold NATA BOC Certification.Current CPR / First Aid and AED Certification.Recommended experience with SWAY concussion testing.At least one year of successful experience is preferred.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Approved CORI and fingerprint-based state and national criminal background results.Peter Dufresne, Principal
