Under the general direction of the Manager, Facilities Planning, the Senior Specialist, Facilities Planning assists in the coordination and support of space planning, institutional furniture procurement, and moving. Work is generally diversified requiring judgment, analysis and decision-making according to established standard practices and procedures. Supervision received is general. Daily responsibilities are completed independently using established policies and general objectives.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
Scheduling and Installation : Coordinates orders and installation of institutional furniture consistent with established standards and specifications. Schedules and oversees the moving operations of furniture and equipment. Directs refurbishing and repair of District furniture.
Facilities Planning : Provides facilities planning support, moving, furniture & equipment coordination, completes finishes reviews, shop drawings and submittal reviews etc.
Inventory Management : Coordinates storage and utilization of existing furniture inventory.
Cost Estimation : Provides cost estimates for procurement of institutional furniture and equipment, room finishes, associated electrical and data connections, and moving services. Delivers space planning layouts and recommends finishes and furniture selections.
Order Processing and Invoice Review : Provides support for requisitions, invoice review, and processing.
Collaborative Teamwork : Establishes, maintains, and enhances positive work relationships with staff, faculty, and administrators. Coordinates closely with the Facilities Planning team and leadership.
Continuous Learning & Professional Development : Maintains current knowledge of best practices and standards in higher education with an emphasis on community Colleges. Actively organizes and / or participates in applicable workgroups, trainings, workshops, seminars, committees and professional associations or conferences to promote continuous learning.
Other duties : Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives.
Qualifications
Compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation standards / requirement, as well as all MATC policies and procedures.
Required Education & Experience
Associate Degree in Interior Design, Space Planning, Architectural Technology or related field; Three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience in related field.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time, in-person position (40 hours per week). The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m., with weekly travel to remote campuses. Hours are subject to change based on departmental needs.
Salary
Salary is listed to the midpoint of the salary range and are determined by years of experience credit and internal salary equity.
