Job Description :
The Microchip business unit in Bend OR is focused on high power devices. Our product lines range from hundreds to thousands of volts and are used everywhere from electrical vehicles and their charging systems to the latest semiconductor manufacturing equipment. We like to say that we dont make the chips in your phone we make the chips that are used to build the equipment that makes the chips in your phone.
We are looking to add an intern to our product engineering team. The role will include both hands-on lab work and in-office work analyzing and organizing test results. A typical day might include debugging and programming an MCU or compiling a variety of test results into a single spreadsheet for further analysis. If you are looking for an internship that will empower you to work on real assignments that have a real impact on the business and prepare you for your engineering career this is the role for you.
Requirements / Qualifications :
The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering degree program and has reached the Senior level or is actively pursuing post-graduate studies in a related discipline. The candidate should possess or have the ability to learn some or all of the below skills / qualities.
Electrical Soldering
Ability to interpret electrical schematic
Exposure to programming (Python C LabVIEW etc...)
Basic PC skills (Windows Word Excel Powerpoint)
Ability to perform basic mechanical assembly (screw drivers drills wrenches etc...)
Strong organizational skills
Attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks
