S Sub - GI Serv

• General Information
• Beds :
• Experience? RN : 3-5
• First-time traveler? Upon review
• Patient Types :
• Endo, Minor Op procedures, Pre and Post
• Skills required
• Experience with ERCP, Upper / lower endo, EUS, Spy glass
• RN : Procedure room, 3-5yrs exp. Endo procedures / equipment, EPIC exp required, Primarily circulate but can scrub basic tech cases, Moderate sedation. Prep / Post area, 2-4years exp. Recover patients from moderate sedation, tele exp is a plus. pre and post experience required
• Patient Ratios :
• ASPN guidelines
• Required Certifications :
• Nurses - BLS, ACLS
• Scrub Techs - BLS, CST or CSPDT, or endo tech with completion of program
• Sterile Processing Tech : Required : CRCST or CBSPD; Preferred : BLS
• Support on the Unit :
• Charge nurse : may take patient assignment
• Phlebotomy? Yes
• Unit Secretary
• Telemetry monitoring at Nursing station - no tele tech
• IV / VAT Team available for hard sticks, PICC lines, midlines, etc.
• Resource Nurse : is available at night and floats between units
• RT in house
• Hospitalist in house
• OT, PT, ST during the week
• Charting System / Equipment :
• EPIC
• Alaris
• Pyxis
• Floating :
• N / A
• Orientation :
• One shift to learn flow
• Scheduling :
• Weekend rotation : every other Saturday
• Can we approve time off? Yes, up to one week
• Holiday Expectations :

o Summer - 2 of the 3 holidays : Memorial Day, Labor Day, July 4th

o Winter - 1 of each group : {Thanksgiving Day OR day after}, {Christmas Eve OR Christmas Day}, {New Years Eve OR New Year's Day}
