Set Pay Rate
$18.00 per hour
Core Responsibilities (Applicable to All DSP Roles)
- Provide direct support and supervision to individuals to ensure safety, engagement, and well-being.
- Assist individuals with personal care tasks, including hygiene, dressing, mobility, and meal preparation.
- Implement and follow individualized care plans, supporting each person's goals and skill development.
- Administer medications accurately and in compliance with agency policies and regulations.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment, adhering to health and safety protocols.
- Utilize approved behavior intervention techniques to assist individuals in emotional and behavioral regulation.
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, progress, incidents, and other required reports.
- Foster community integration by facilitating participation in activities, events, and social interactions.
- Maintain open communication with supervisors, team members, and external service providers.
- Attend required training, staff meetings, and professional development sessions to stay informed and compliant with agency expectations.
- Work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Treat all individuals with dignity, respect, and kindness.
Requirements
Education : High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certifications in human services preferred.Certifications : Must obtain and maintain active certifications in CPR / First Aid and Mandt (or other crisis intervention training).Experience : Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required; a strong commitment to person-centered support is essential.Skills : Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills. Ability to follow detailed care plans and work both independently and as part of a team.Physical Requirements : Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 50 pounds to assist individuals with mobility and daily tasks.Other : A valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record as determined by agency policies.Additional Information
DSPs are required to participate in ongoing training, professional development, and staff meetings to enhance their skills and knowledge.This role requires patience, empathy, and the ability to support individuals with kindness, dignity, and respect.Work schedules may vary and can include evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet program needs.Total Rewards
